I would just like to ask your tips or advice on how I can choose the right foundation for my skin. I have normal skin, but sometimes it gets too oily on sunny days and too dry on cool seasons. I am currently using a liquid foundation but I thought this is not appropriate for my skin. Read more here…

Keep makeup on longer, products for sensitive skin
(Inquirer.net)- Choosing beauty products with your skin type in mind will see to it you get less breakouts and nicer skin (or longer lasting makeup). But there are times when normal skin usually doesn’t stay very “normal”, especially with the weather switching from hot to cold to hot again. This week I answer your questions to how to keep your makeup fresh and what products to use for sensitive skin.
Beauty: Six of the best
(New Zealand Herald)- These retail skincare products come with big reputations:
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair 30ml $129
Night Repair can claim pioneering serum status. The elixir was a rarity when it was launched in 1982 to combat environmental damage, but now there is a whole category of these repair and recovery boosters. The "Advanced" formula updates the original and adds smoke and pollution fighters, but with the same promises to improve hydration, signs of ageing and uneven skintone.
Elizabeth Arden Prevage Face Advanced Anti-Ageing Serum 50ml $292
The serum is at the heart of the Prevage family, a range launched in 2006 that has now grown to eight products, including moisturisers with sunscreen. All contain the highly-rated antioxidant ingredient Idebenone, which helps protect skin from oxidative stress and supports the repair process. A recent addition is Prevage Clarity which targets age and sun spots and there is a version for sensitive skins on the way. Read more here…

Don't keep your makeup forever
(Times of India)- Most of us women are secretly beauty product junkies. We tend to collect the latest lipgloss, foundation or the trendiest new eye shadow and often end up not using it more than once or twice. Applying the right cosmetics can help enhance your beauty, but using old ones could result in skin infections or a rash. Instead of holding onto that lipstick from your teenage years, read on to find out your favourite products expiration date. Read more here…
How to Read Beauty Product Labels
(Money Talks News)- If you don’t want to waste your money on products that make empty promises, learn which parts of product labels are regulated by the FDA. There’s no other way to know which words on personal care product labels are credible and which could be nonsense.

1. Ingredients:
The Code of Federal Regulations (Section 701.3) requires cosmetics packaging to “bear a declaration of the name of each ingredient in descending order of predominance.” As seemingly useless as ingredients with unpronounceable names may seem, this is about as trustworthy as a cosmetics product’s label gets. “The ingredient list is the only part of the product’s copy that you can and should rely on,” says Paula Begoun. Someone Just Like Me Said, ‘Buy It’
(New York Times)- MAGAZINES have long been oracles of beauty advice for women. These days, beauty bloggers, celebrities and tweeting makeup artists also dole out tips and tout must-have products — that they may have received free. Extreme eyelashes
(The Seattle Times)- When it comes to eyelashes, the mantra has always been "the bigger the better." And now beauty brands aren't stopping at full and lush. They're taking it to the extreme with products that offer intense, almost spider-webby lashes that fall somewhere between a 1960s Twiggy and a 1980s Tammy Faye Bakker.
The look was all over the fall runways — seen at Lanvin, Miu Miu and Chloe — but beauty products offering heavy and dramatic lashes are hitting shelves now, meaning you can start sporting your spidery eyes right away. Or at least you can start practicing to perfect the technique so that you don't end up looking like a mascara wand attacked your face. Read more here…
